Preschool

Our Preschool provides a high quality early childhood educational program for children and families. There are two programs; a two day program and a three day program. As part of the mission of the church, we focus on supporting low income families and culturally and linguistically diverse families.

UnitingCare Burwood Preschool sits proudly on Wangal land and has been for the past 75 years. The preschool has a very strong sense of community and it’s common to have second and third generation families returning with their children and grandchildren to attend the preschool. The preschool is overseen by a Board of Management which consists of volunteer parent representatives, community and congregation members. 

We aim for children to feel a sense of connection, community, belonging and being. We view children as capable, competent, co-contributors, and acknowledge them as active participants in their own learning. We endeavour to develop strong partnerships with families as we believe they have a powerful influence on children's learning and development, providing a wealth of knowledge about their children.  

Our preschool is a place where play is used to encourage happiness, support exploration, scaffold ideas, be curious and promote engagement. We believe that our differences are what make us strong as a community and we value the different abilities, cultures, languages and identities of our community.
